RICO BERNASCONI x STEPHEN OAKS "U Hypnotized Me"

Das Thema, welches bei U HYPNOTIZED ME zur Vorlage diente, sollte eigentlich so gut wie jedem Italo Disco Fan bekannt vorkommen. Es handelt sich hierbei um einen der ersten Hits aus diesem Genre überhaupt, aus dem Jahr 1983 von My Mine – Hypnotic Tango. Fast 20 Jahre später, genau genommen im Dezember 2002, bis weit nach dem Frühjahr 2003, katapultiere ein neues DJ-Trio Act mit dem Namen Master Blaster eine völlig neue Version von Hypnotic Tango ebenfalls über viele Wochen in die Top 10 der Deutschen Verkauf & Radio Charts, sowie auch in ganz Europa bis nach Asien hatte das Trio einen Hit gelandet mit ihrer Umsetzung. Der damalige Frontmann und Mastermind um Master Blaster war Rico Bernasconi, damals noch unter Rico Bass als DJ in den Discotheken bekannt.

Aktuell sind wieder fast 20 Jahre vergangen und zum 20 x 20-jährigen Jubiläum, hat es sich Rico nicht nehmen lassen, erneut seine Hände an diesen Klassiker anzulegen. Nur diesmal gemeinsam mit einem guten Freund aus Los Angeles, Stephen Oaks. Zum ersten Mal in der Geschichte von Hypnotic Tango, kommen nun weibliche Strophen on top, welche als U HYPNOTIZED ME wie ein Blitz in jedes Gehör einschlagen und perfekt mit der My Mine Hook eins werden. Als Rico im Spätsommer 2022 den fertigen Mix den Original-Urhebern Mauro Malavasi & Stefano Micheli aus Bella Italia vorspielte, waren sich alle einig, hier ist wieder ein HIT am Start.

Als perfekte Kombination aus Club und Radio, ist es Tom Belmond gelungen, einen Remix beizusteuern, welcher mehr als gelungen ist.

The theme of U HYPNOTIZED ME should be familiar to almost every Italo Disco fan. It is one of the first hits from this genre ever, from 1983 by My Mine - Hypnotic Tango. Almost 20 years later, in December 2002 to be exact, until well after the spring of 2003, a new DJ trio act with the name Master Blaster catapulted a completely new version of Hypnotic Tango for many weeks into the Top 10 of the German Sales & Radio Charts, as well as throughout Europe and Asia the trio had landed a hit with their version of the track.
The frontman and mastermind around Master Blaster was Rico Bernasconi, then still known as Rico Bass as a DJ in the clubs.

Currently, almost 20 years have passed again and for the 20 x 20 anniversary, Rico worked on this classic track again.

Only this time together with a good friend from Los Angeles, Stephen Oaks. For the first time in the history of Hypnotic Tango, female verses now come on top, which as U HYPNOTIZED ME strike like lightning into every ear and become perfectly one with the My Mine hook. When Rico played the finished mix to the original authors Mauro Malavasi & Stefano Micheli from Bella Italia in late summer 2022, everyone agreed: „This is another HIT“

As a perfect combination of club and radio, Tom Belmond has managed to contribute a remix, which is more than successful.
